Many of the Swedish royals have reached ninety (the king’s father died in a ‘plane crash) so the present king can be expected to live a good while longer. The king of Sweden is the only monarch in Europe descended twice from Queen Victoria. His wife, Queen Sylvia, is the longest serving Queen Consort of Sweden.
